New Disney Dining Card Promotion Could Save You Big Money at Walt Disney World

As with any Disney World promotion, you'll need to crunch the numbers to see if this offer will really save you money.

Walt Disney World is debuting a new dining promotion this summer. While the promo does not signal the return of the Disney Dining Plan (which was suspended in 2020 and has yet to be reinstated), the new offer does provide guests a way to save money while dining at the Disney resorts and theme parks in Orlando.

With the new promotion, guests can receive a Digital Disney Dining Promo Card for a predetermined amount for use at Disney’s restaurants and dining locations when they book on-site accommodations this summer. There are certain terms and conditions that must be met in order to receive the dining card, notably that guests must book a non-discounted five-night, four-day vacation package that includes theme park tickets. (Note that if a package includes more than $1,000 in dining credit, the value will be distributed across multiple cards.)

Put simply, if you book a five-night Disney World vacation package (room and tickets) at full price for select dates this summer, you will receive a gift card that can be only used at select dining locations at the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. The total amount on the gift card is determined based on your Disney World hotel category and arrival date.

For guests arriving between June 25 and 30 or between July 11 and 31, the dining gift card amount will be:

  • Value resort: $35 per night
  • Moderate resorts and cabins: $75 per night
  • Deluxe and deluxe villa resorts: $125 per night

For guests arriving between July 1 and 10 and between August 1 and September 14, it will be:

  • Value resorts: $50 per night
  • Moderate resorts and cabins: $100 per night
  • Deluxe and deluxe villa resorts: $150 per night

Keep in mind that these amounts are per room, not per person. Also note that if you already have an existing reservation during the qualifying dates and wish to upgrade your vacation package to add the Disney Dining Card Promo to your stay, you may see the total cost in your reservation go up due to recent price increases. The dining card will be sent to the primary guest via email upon check-in.

As with any Disney World promotion, it’s best to crunch the numbers and determine whether this offer is worth the cost for your family. The dining card sounds like a sweet deal, but only if you were already considering a five-night vacation package.

Disney World usually announces several special offers throughout the year, many of which include discounted hotel room rates, and those may add up to even more savings on the total cost of your vacation. But if you were already looking to book a summer trip to Disney World, this may be just the right incentive and can certainly help to lower the cost of dining.
