About an hour from the major tourist attractions in Orlando, Winter Haven’s LEGOLAND Florida Resort is a cute theme park complex with two amusement parks, a water park, three on-site hotels, and plenty of brick-building fun for kids of all ages. While you may think LEGOLAND Florida Resort is a single-day trip away from bigger parks like Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort, it’s actually a great weekend trip for families with younger kids.

The theme park features attractions and shows for kids ages two to 12. I know that’s a pretty wide gap, but LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park alone has more than 55 rides and attractions, so there really is something for everyone. Toddlers will love the playgrounds and kiddie rides while bigger kids will enjoy the roller coasters.

If you’re thinking about going to the LEGOLAND Florida Resort anytime soon, read my first-timers guide to learn everything you need to know about the theme parks, tickets, hotels, and more.

There are three main types of tickets for LEGOLAND Florida Resort, though all offer similar benefits. The main difference in ticket types is the length of time the tickets are good for. Pricing is the same for all guests ages two and up.

  • 1-Day Tickets: Single-day tickets are good for one or multi-park entry and start at $74 per person. Single-day tickets can be purchased to enter LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park, LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park and the water park, or LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park and Peppa Pig Theme Park.
  • 2-Day Tickets: A two-day ticket starts at $94 and includes entry for two separate days to only LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park, LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park and the water park, LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park and Peppa Pig Theme Park, or all three parks.
  • Family Vacation Package: If you’re looking to add a hotel stay to your park ticket, consider the Family Vacation Package. The package includes an overnight hotel stay, two-day LEGOLAND Florida multi-park tickets, free daily breakfast, and activities at the hotel.

Two ticket add-ons worth the cost

With your ticket, you can purchase a series of add-ons that could make a day at LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park even more awesome. The first is pre-paying for parking, which comes in standard or preferred parking for $32 or $52, respectively. This will save you time at the gate since you’ll need to scan a QR code to access the parking lot.

The shuttle leaves these locations at 9:00, 9:15, and 9:30 a.m., respectively. Then to return to Orlando, the shuttle leaves LEGOLAND at 6:00 p.m. Shuttle costs are $10 per person.

At LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park, there are more than 55 rides and attractions. Some of the more exciting attractions include AQUAZONE Wave Racers, where kids race through the water to dodge water blasts. For something a little more thrilling get in line for Coastersaurus, a wooden roller coaster that zips around life-sized LEGO brick dinosaurs.

The whole family will enjoy LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, where you blast fireballs and lightning to defeat the Great Devourer. Of course, since the park is geared toward younger kids, there are plenty of playgrounds and opportunities to build with LEGO bricks too.

LEGOLAND Florida Water Park

LEGOLAND Florida Water Park is a great spot to hang out on warm Florida days. The park has a wave pool, lazy river, 14 slides, and interactive LEGO play areas. One attraction not to miss at the water park is Twin Chasers, where you and a friend can speed down a set of 375-foot slides together or race each other to the splashdown pool.

Peppa Pig Theme Park

If your young children can’t get enough Peppa Pig take them right next door to the Peppa Pig Theme Park. The park is known for its pre-school-aged fun, and many attractions don’t have a height requirement. The park does have a small splash pad for hot summer days, and there’s an indoor cinema where you can watch episodes of Peppa Pig. The big thrill here is Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster, where children can go on a made-just-for-them thrill ride. This is definitely a good starter coaster if your kids have been interested in thrill rides but have never been quite tall enough.

There are plenty of options for food inside LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park, from classics like burgers and pizza to chicken strips and tacos. One thing not to miss while exploring the park is Granny’s Apple Fries. The fruit fries are made with lightly battered granny smith apples that are dusted with cinnamon sugar and then topped with whipped cream. The dish was created at LEGOLAND and continues to be a fan favorite.

Pirate Island Hotel

Just steps from the entrance of LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park is the Pirate Island Hotel. The swashbuckling accommodations feature pirate-themed rooms with separate sleeping areas for adults and kids. Additionally, each room features a LEGO play and build area, a treasure chest with LEGO treasure, and more. This is a great option if your kids love pirates or you want to surprise them with an over-the-top hotel stay.

LEGOLAND Hotel

The LEGOLAND Hotel is the iconic spot to stay while enjoying LEGOLAND Florida Resort. The hotel has six different room themes that range from adventure and LEGO friends to Pirate and LEGO NINJAGO. Amenities in the rooms include a mini-fridge, separate sleeping areas for adults and kids, nightly in-room refreshments, a treasure hunt chest with surprises inside, and a LEGO build area. Other communal amenities at the hotel include a pool with a water slide, a castle-themed indoor play area, a restaurant, and nightly entertainment. Self-parking and hot breakfast are included at the hotel too.

LEGOLAND Beach Retreat

Step into the cute beach-themed hotel at the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat. This hotel allows families to stay in a LEGO-themed beach bungalow with views of Lake Dexter. A stay here includes a free hot breakfast, a pool, outside playgrounds, and more. Rooms are more basic than the other two LEGOLAND hotels, but they get the job done for families on a budget since this is the resort’s most economical property. Rooms are split into two sleeping areas so adults and kids can have their own space. And since the hotel is a little further away from the entrance to LEGOLAND and Peppa Pig Theme Park there’s a free shuttle that you can use during your stay.

Three tips to keep in mind before going to LEGOLAND Florida Resort

1. LEGOLAND Florida offers a big perk for those who may get rained out, called the “Rainy Day Promise.” This means if a portion of rides and attractions are closed for an extended period due to bad weather you can use your existing ticket for another visit anytime within one year of your original ticket date.

2. You may want to plan your trip around LEGOLAND’s seasonal events. Currently, the park celebrates Halloween with Brick-or-Treat on select days in September and every weekend in October. Then the Holidays at LEGOLAND bring some festive fun to the park on select days in November and December.

3. You can bring your own food into the theme parks, but there are some rules to keep in mind. Coolers must be soft-sided and no larger than 8.5 inches x 6 inches x 6 inches. The park does not allow alcohol or anything in glass containers.
