Whether you’re two busy parents in desperate need of some alone time or a group of girlfriends planning your next escape, just any old hotel or resort won’t do for a getaway. With no kids in tow on this trip, now’s the time to stay at a place with an elevated vibe, sophisticated food and drink scene, and amenities geared toward grownups. If you’re a fan of the latest and greatest, I’ve got the scoop on the best new hotels and resorts for a romantic reset or girlfriend getaway.

1. Casa Loma Beach Hotel

A reimagining of the former Inn at Laguna Beach that opened in late 2024, Casa Loma Beach Hotel takes design inspiration from its California cliffside setting by the sea, giving the property a boho-meets-Mediterranean vibe. You’ll find surf-inspired design elements in the guest rooms and neutral color palettes drawn from the landscape outside, with 38 of the rooms featuring private balconies or patios for taking in the views. Enjoy a welcome cocktail when you first arrive, then spend time relaxing by the pool and exploring Laguna Beach’s art and food scenes. The hotel’s onsite radio station provides the soundtrack for your stay, playing California tunes and other coastal music from around the world.

2. Palm House

Opened in December 2024, Palm House ranks as Palm Beach’s first new hotel in four years. It was worth the wait for the 79-room property, where the Palm Bar immediately sets the tone for what to expect at the hotel, with Murano-glass chandeliers hanging overhead and seashell wall installations accenting the pink marble-topped bar. Cabana beds and cushioned loungers surround the sunken pool area, while spacious guest rooms and suites feature marble-clad bathrooms with soaking tubs and private balconies for enjoying the Florida sun. From its coral façade to the Palm House Dining Room, the hotel puts its own spin on Palm Beach’s signature pink-and-green color scheme and makes for a stylish getaway.

3. Princess Senses The Mangrove

You can stay close to the action at Princess Senses The Mangrove by booking a swim-out suite with access to a semi-private pool, or opt for romantic seclusion in a private overwater bungalow with its own infinity pool. And whether you’re at this adults-only all-inclusive resort for a fun Jamaica getaway with friends or a little alone time, you’ll have access to 14 restaurants, 15 bars, a spa offering a range of treatments, multiple pools, and a gorgeous stretch of white sand beach. There are plenty of activities plus a schedule of live entertainment to keep you busy at the resort, which opened at the end of 2024, but it’s also a great place to just chill out and relax.

4. Arlo Washington DC

Arlo Washington DC sits within walking distance of museums, restaurants, and theaters, making it a great option for an adults-only trip to the nation’s capital. The new 445-room hotel that opened in December 2024 blends a transformation of the district’s oldest surviving apartment building with a LEED-certified 12-story addition for a past-meets-present getaway. Signature restaurant Arrels serves contemporary Spanish cuisine, and rooftop bar ART DC is the place to be when the weather’s warm. Active types will love the hotel’s complimentary bikes, 24-hour fitness center with cardio and strength equipment and fitness classes, and Arlo Move sessions that can be done in the privacy of your room via your TV.

5. Hotel Willa

Taos, New Mexico

Part of the Casetta group of boutique lodging properties, Hotel Willa will offer 50 rooms done up in contemporary-meets-traditional Southwestern style. Think arched doorways, terracotta walls, and lots of local artwork. The totally transformed former motel will offer easy access to the Downtown Taos Historic District and make an ideal homebase for exploring the area. A pool and hot tub will help guests unwind after a busy day of sightseeing, while firepits and a stargazing deck will beckon in the evenings. On-site restaurant Juliette will serve northern New Mexican cuisine, and an on-site art gallery and artist-in-residency program with The Paseo Project will integrate the local arts scene into the property.

6. The Louie at Davenport Hotel

Spokane, Washington

A swanky new way to stay in Spokane, Washington, will be available this spring when The Louie at Davenport Hotel opens. Honoring the legacy of influential Spokane hotelier Louis “Louie” Davenport, the 48-room boutique hotel will boast an “art gallery-meets-library feel,” with antiques and artifacts related to its namesake’s interests sprinkled around the property. During evening cocktail hour, the hotel’s bar cart will serve up curated cocktails, and comfortably elegant guest rooms will make winding down an oh-so-pleasant experience. Guests will be treated to the first and only hotel butler service in the city and will also have access to all the amenities at nearby sister property The Historic Davenport Hotel.

7. Belden House & Mews

Litchfield, Connecticut

A 19th-century mansion and midcentury-modern property will come together to create a unique stay at Belden House & Mews. The New England hotel will offer 31 guest rooms, some with a historic bent and others with modern flair, along with butler and valet service for guests. Head to The Dining Room for seasonal local cuisine or the jewel box-like Bar at Belden for coffee and tea in the morning and cocktails and mocktails in the evening. The Bathhouse wellness facility will feature treatment rooms; fitness equipment and classes; steam, sauna, and hydrotherapy areas; and a seasonal heated 50-foot outdoor pool. When it’s cold outside, there will be no better spot than the property’s cozy library.

8. The Trail Hotel

Bardstown, Kentucky

When you’re known as the “Bourbon Capital of the World,” it only seems natural to be the site of the world’s first and only bourbon-centric hotel. When The Trail Hotel opens in April 2025, guests will find five bars (including a speakeasy) and amenities like a bourbon butler who arranges tours, tastings, and transportation (there are 13 historic distilleries within a few miles of the property) and an “Emergency Rejuvenation” station with an infrared sauna, cold plunge, IV hydration station, and more. An on-site restaurant, pool, and golf simulator swing suite will offer options beyond sipping spirits, and the 95 guests rooms will include eight bourbon-themed suites.

9. The Vineta Hotel

Palm Beach, Florida

The Oetker Collection—the luxury brand behind properties like Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc in the French Riviera—will make its U.S. debut with the opening of The Vineta Hotel in spring 2025. Located two blocks off Worth Avenue, the almost 100-year-old structure underwent a full renovation but still retains its Mediterranean Revival roots. A pale-pink façade sets the scene for a stylish interpretation of Palm Beach style inside, where 41 spacious room will welcome guests. The hotel’s signature restaurant Coco’s will serve both locally inspired dishes and favorites from Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc’s restaurants, and the lounge and pool area will definitely both have an ultra-stylish see-and-be-seen kind of vibe.

10. Appellation Healdsburg

Healdsburg, California

Food and wine will be the focus of this sophisticated new hotel coming to northern Sonoma County. Appellation Healdsburg’s on-site restaurant (led by acclaimed American chef and hotel cofounder Charlie Palmer) will spotlight local ingredients and vintages, while the rooftop bar will offer sweeping views of nearby vineyards. When you’re not sipping and tasting locally grown creations, you’ll be able to relax by the two pools, book a treatment at the spa, or admire the scenic landscape from your balcony. Feed your mind by taking part in one of the hotel’s learning programs, or walk off all the amazing cuisine by strolling the trails that meander around the property and connect to the Foss Creek Trail.

11. La Bahia Hotel & Spa

Santa Cruz, California

Stay beachfront in Santa Cruz when the new La Bahia Hotel & Spa debuts in summer 2025. The new hotel pays homage to the site’s past, leaning into its Mediterranean style and not only restoring but also incorporating the historic bell tower that’s something of a local landmark. Guest rooms and suites will offer ocean views and plenty of luxe touches for an ultra-comfortable stay, while The Spa at La Bahia will feature indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, a rooftop zen deck, and a sauna overlooking Monterey Bay. Lounge chairs, umbrellas, and butler service will elevate your beach time, and bikes will be available for pedaling along the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

12. White Elephant Aspen

Aspen, Colorado

White Elephant Aspen will bring a dose of modern luxury to the popular Colorado ski town when it opens in late 2025, with a design that features local materials such as leather, wood, and stone and a color palette of rust, warm whites, and deep charcoals. But the 54-room boutique hotel will also include nods to the brand’s beachy Nantucket and Palm Beach locations, like elephant door knockers at the entrance to each room and suite. Guests can take advantage of amenities like an outdoor pool and complimentary bicycles during the warmer months, a shuttle to and from the ski slopes during the winter, and complimentary courtesy BMWs no matter the time of year.
