School’s out for summer, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to go to Walt Disney World! Whether you have plans on visiting Disney World in June or you’re considering a summer vacation for a future year, you may be onto something. June can be very hot, but crowd-wise it’s certainly far from the worst time of year to visit. June is also a lighter month in terms of special events, which can also lead to quieter days in the parks overall.

Keep reading for your ultimate guide to Walt Disney World in June, from what to expect with the weather as well as current events to have on your vacation itinerary.
What’s happening at Walt Disney World in June
Limited time treats for Pride Month and Father’s Day
June is Pride Month, and around Walt Disney World, you’ll find limited-time food and beverage items as well as merchandise that celebrates the LGBT community. Also in the month of June, we celebrate dads! Father’s Day is on June 15 this year, meaning you should be able to spot a few limited-time food and beverage items around the parks and resorts starting in early June.
Limited-time offerings begin (or continue)
As the official start to the summer season, June brings with it a series of seasonal offerings across Walt Disney World. Returning is Cool Kids’ Summer, featuring early morning character meet and greet opportunities and fun activities for little ones.
If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kids at EPCOT this June, head to CommuniCore Hall — or rather, GoofyCore — for DJ-led dance parties and playtime with appearances from Goofy himself.

More summer offerings include the continuation of Disney After Hours and Disney H2O Glow After Hours. These hard-ticketed events give families the chance to extend their evenings in a park on select evenings.

Disney Springs Flavors of Florida returns
Disney Springs will have its own food festival of sorts when the Flavors of Florida returns, usually lasting from late June through mid-August. The event will feature nearly 100 menu items from dozens of Disney Springs restaurants and dining locations. Flavors of Florida celebrates ingredients grown and harvested in Florida, so imagine all of the delightful citrus dishes! In addition to the menu items available for purchase, chefs will offer cooking demonstrations on select Fridays throughout the festival.

Walt Disney World in June weather
The only piece of good news I have to offer when it comes to the weather at Walt Disney World in June is that it shouldn’t be quite as bad as it gets in July and August. According to Weather Spark, the average high in June is 90 degrees, and the average low is 74 degrees. But the real story is the humidity, which settles into Florida around this time and stays through September or so. Weather Spark reports that June has 27.6 days of “muggy” weather — so essentially the entire month. Combined with those high temperatures, you’ll definitely feel it.

On average, June sees approximately 17.7 days of precipitation, a sharp increase from May’s average of 9.5 days. If you’re traveling to Disney World this month or at any point in the summer season, make sure your rain gear is ready. Chances are you’ll run into a few downpours during your June visit.

Tips for visiting Walt Disney World in June
Stay cool and comfortable
The biggest tip I have for a June visit to Disney World is to prioritize your comfort above all else. Take frequent indoor breaks, stay hydrated (pack those liquid IV packets!), reapply sunscreen regularly, and wear comfortable clothing. A summer vacation to Disney World can be a lot of fun, but you have to make sure you’re taking care of your health along the way. Those midday breaks where you go back to the hotel, take showers, change, etc. can make a huge difference.
Consider a Disney World After Hours event
With those high temperatures soaring this month, you might want to consider buying tickets to a Disney After Hours event. Maximizing evening park hours after the sun sets is one sure-fire way to be somewhat more comfortable at Disney World this summer.

This includes Disney H2O Glow After Hours at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, offered on select nights throughout the month of June.

Look into free water park admission if staying on Disney World property
Disney World launched a promotion in 2025 that allows its on-property hotel guests to visit one Disney World water park — Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach — free of charge on their arrival and check in day. To be eligible for this offer, all you have to do is have your name appear on the hotel reservation!

Starting in 2026, this offer was modified to be available only during the summer season. If you have a June vacation to Disney World, you’ll definitely want to look into this deal as it may give your family the chance to have a cool and comfortable start to your visit.
